Flat response, zero coloration. Finally I can trust what I am hearing in the mix. I mastered two records on these in the first month and both translated correctly to every playback system I tested — which has not been true of any other monitor I have owned at this price.
Exceptional clarity. The low end is tight and controlled. One note: these speakers reward proper placement more than most. Positioned incorrectly they will sound thin at the bottom. Once dialed in — equilateral triangle, toed in 30 degrees, one foot from the back wall — the bass locks in and the midrange opens up significantly.

Most monitors in this range use drivers sourced from shared catalog suppliers. The silk dome here has an airy quality on the top octave that metallic dome alternatives consistently lack. On high-hat textures and upper harmonics of acoustic piano, the resolution is superior to monitors I have used professionally at higher prices.
I mix at home and these are the first monitors I have trusted enough to release work on without a second confirmation check in the car or on earbuds. The stereo image is precise and stable. Width and depth do not shift when you move your head by a few inches — that is not common at this price point.
The cabinet bracing eliminates the resonance peaks that colored my old monitors on low-mid frequencies. I could hear it immediately on kick drum and bass guitar — notes that were previously slightly emphasized are now reproduced at their actual level. Everything I thought I knew about my room turned out to be my old monitors.
The speaker itself is excellent — precise and revealing across the frequency range. My only wish is that the input accepted balanced XLR in addition to unbalanced RCA. For home studio use it is not a practical limitation, but for integration with professional gear a balanced input would be useful.
